About Me

Sasinda is an MEng student in Electrical Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, Memorial University, Canada, supported by the Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) program. Sasinda earned his BScEng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka, graduating with First Class Honours and receiving multiple university-level and national awards, including the Prof. Eliathamby Ambikairajah Gold Medal for the best overall performance in the field. 

Sasinda has extensive teaching experience. He has served as a Lecturer (Probationary and Contract) and Assistant Lecturer at the University of Jaffna, as well as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. Professionally, he has worked as an Electrical Design Engineer at Fimcen (Pvt) Ltd, designing systems for Schneider Electric Australia’s metro projects. Sasinda is a certified network specialist (CCNA, ENCOR) and an active member of professional bodies including IEEE, IESL, and ECSL. He has authored peer-reviewed publications in leading IEEE journals and international conferences such as IEEE ICC and GLOBECOM.
